Metric was retained to conduct a pre-demolition hazardous materials survey at a former shopping center. The building was constructed circa 1963 consisting of approximately 114,828 sf. Metric identified approximately 19,000 square feet of floor tile and mastic requiring asbestos abatement prior to building demolition. In addition, Metric conducted soil and cistern waste sampling and construction site wide air monitoring during site clearing.

The redevelopment of the former shopping center by Eskenazi Health and Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County, provided a $75 million new state-of-the-art health center opening on the east side of Indianapolis. The new facility will allow for 20 percent growth in services through more than 30,000 additional annual visits. Guided by community input, the facility also serves as a hub for community gathering, providing accessible care options and social amenities under one roof.
