KY 205 Improvements Project

NEPA Compliance

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) proposed improvements/reconstruction to KY 205 from East of KY 1812 to West of Peggs Fork Road, in Breathitt County, Kentucky (KY) north of the unincorporated community of Vancleve, for a length of 2.15 miles. The KY 205 corridor serves as a connection from KY 15 to the Mountain Parkway and US 460 corridors. The majority of the KY 205 corridor has been upgraded between KY 15 and US 460, with this project proposed as the final section to be upgraded within the overall corridor. Sixteen residential structures are to be removed as part of the roadway realignment and improvement project. Metric worked with KYTC by completing archaeology and Historic Resource investigations, environmental justice investigations and interviews, Phase I hazardous waste investigations, documentation of a family cemetery, and completing a Level 3 KYTC Categorical Exclusion document.
